Refunds & Returns Policy

Our Guarantee

At Bellevue Hill Bottle Shop we believe in providing quality wines at a quality prices.

As such, if a wine is faulty, damaged, of questionable quality or not to your satisfaction, please feel free to contact one of our staff on 1300 677 538 (local call in Australia) or +61 2 8213 2515 (from overseas).

If the product meets one (or more) of these conditions please contact us and we will be happy to provide you with either a credit refund or replacement.

Wines are a living and ever changing product, and as such, if you were to come accross a bad one (it does happen from time to time no matter how much we care for the product) then we'll need to organise with you to have the remaining items returns so that we can look at it too.  If it's a bad batch, more often than not we can get replacements from the suppliers and we are happy to pass on this to you - but we'll need the samples from you.

We're in the business of looking after all your wine needs - so we'll do what we can to look after you.

Personal Information

At Bellevue Hill Bottle shop we are very aware of the use and misuse of information.

As such, while any personal information that users submit to the site will be stored in our database, if it is used, it will only be for internal processes or if agreed by you for promotional purposes. This could include Newsletters, catalogue updates or other promotional campaigns.

You should be aware that as we strictly adhere to the rules and guidelines regarding the misappropriation of information, we will not pass your details on to third parties. And you can request them to be removed from any marketing at anytime.

At Bellevue Hill Bottle Shop we do our best to ensure that your information remains private in accordance with the Privacy Act.

We're in the business of servicing your wine needs!  Why any business would breach this trust is beyond us!

However, in situations whereby we must offer such information according to the law, or where our contract or conditions have been breached, misused, or deliberately ignored, we reserve the right to disclose your personal information to the appropriate party to ensure that the matter is resolved according to the seriousness of the offence.

Payment

We use Eway for all our online credit card transactions. To find more about Eway you can visit their website on http://www.eway.com.au

Bellevue Hill Bottle Shop cannot access your card details and your personal information is always encrypted when it is being transferred on line - there are laws about all this, and we adhere to them!

If you feel uncomfortable with using this system or with paying online, dont hesitate to contact us on 1300 677 538 (local call in Australia) or +61 2 8213 2515 (from overseas) so we can process the payment for you!

Alternatively, we will be even happier if you pop in and say hey to us at 100a Bellevue Rd, Bellevue Hill, where we can do it for you with a smile!

Delivery

We can deliver anywhere in Australia! Or courier anywhere in Sydney for less than $10 / box!

We don't charge any extra for packing or shipping, so we like to keep the costs of shipping transparent so that you know what you are paying for.

A box (dozen) of half bottles of wine or a box (24) of piccolos of wine weigh approx 9kg. We pack the bottles well so that they can travel via mail and we always use registered post or courier.

Cancellations

At anytime we hold the rights to cancel any order, upon which the intended recipient will be notified via the appropriate contact details they have provided. We will refund the monies after the person has been notified.

You too can cancel your order if you need to up to the time it ships - we of course hope you don't, but if circumstances arrive that require you to cancel the order, just give us a call!

Age Rquirements

To order from us, you must be at least 18 years of age. It is illegal in Australia to sell alcohol to persons under the age of 18 or to supply alcohol to anyone that we know will then pass it on to an underage person - it's all in the liquor laws and can affect our license - so we're strict about this!

Unattended Delivery

If you have requested your order left unattended if there is nobody at the delivery address to accept the delivery - sorry, but this also means we can't be responsible for any missing items.

We have a lot of stock but may not have all products immediately available for shipping - we regularly check with our suppliers to ensure that what we have on offer is available and will get back to you if there are any delays.

Most products we can receive from our suppliers within a day (some on the same day) - other products are ordered weekly (for these products, as a general rule, if ordered by Tuesday each week we can have it with us on Thursday the same week). As soon as we receive your order, we'll be in touch with estimated time frames. Delivery times are quoted as from the time your order has been given to the courier and doesn't include weekends.

Please also note that any products we need to order in may take a few days (up to 9 days) to get to us first.

WHAT IS MY CVN NUMBER?

The Card Verification Number (CVN) is an extra code printed on your debit or credit card. CVN for Visa, MasterCard, BankCard and Diners is the final three digits of the number printed on the signature strip on the back of your card.

CVN for American Express appears as a separate 4-digit code printed on the front of your card.

As the CVN is not embossed (like the card number) the CVN is not printed on any receipts, hence it is not likely to be known by anyone other than the card owner.

CVN is an anti-fraud measure being introduced by credit card companies worldwide. You are required to enter the CVN each time a payment is made and you are not present to sign a receipt, as for on-line transactions. We ask you to fill out the CVN here to verify that you actually hold the card you are using for this transaction, and to avoid anyone other than you from shopping with your card number. All information you submit is transferred over secure SSL connections.

* The name of this code differs per card company. You may also know it as the Card Verification Code (CVC), the Card Security Code or the Personal Security Code. All names cover the same type of information.

Fortified wine or 'stickies' are either loved or hated - often because they are not presented in the right situations - and the over sweet weet wine sold in abundance a couple of decades ago didn't help the sticky reputation. Most fortified white wine is made from riesling or semillon but are available in nearly all grape varieties. In the right place, stickies are a fantastic compliment to a meal - think of fine cheeses and a great sticky - brilliant!

Valdespino Inocente Fino

Very pale, almost neutral in colour, with a slight yellow/green tint. A beautiful sherry fino nose, green apple, almonds and a slight note of iodine. Its dry and bursting with freshness in the mouth, jam packed full of classic flavours: a light bitter herb and a yeasty, woody character mixed in with some salty nuts. Complex and refreshing. Nicely balanced, it has a prick of acid and a nice smooth finish. A classic.

Ralph Fowler Botrytis Sticky

In the good years Ralph Folwer make about 10 barrels of a late harvest style they affectionately call the “Sticky”. This late harvest style is only made in the years they can get access to grapes that are effected by the noble rot (botrytis) and have achieved a baume of to least 18 degrees or more. Semillon is the preferred variety although they do use Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc.
